Thanks to everyone who joined us for the 2023 harvest which became known across all UK vineyards as ‘The Big One’! The huge crop was due to the near perfect weather for grapes at key times of the growing season. Our ‘tow and blow’ machine saved us from frosts in May while the warm June, wet August and hot September all contributed to a very heavy crop. Whereas we normally finish grape picking at around 1pm and settle in for a traditional harvest lunch accompanied by a few glasses of last year’s vintage, many of our kind volunteers went back into the vineyard after lunch….some even came back on the following Wednesday to pick the final rows. Our sincere thanks as always to everyone who contributed to this amazing day.
